The One by Kiera Cass

Sypnosis (from Goodreads):

The time has come for one winner to be crowned.

When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she'll have to fight for the future she wants.

My Review -- 5/5 stars!

Recap from The Elite: America and Maxon's relationship progresses to good and bad circumstances. Marlee and America are now best friends, but Marlee is hiding secrets that she can't tell America. Which makes America doubt their friendship. Maxon throws America a Halloween Party in which he invites the families of the remaining selected. The selected are paired up with each other to give the visitors from other countries a reception. The palace gets attacked during it. America runs on the other which makes Maxon worried for her. She is given an assignment for "fixing" the issues that the government has. She chooses to remove the caste system. However, it doesn't end in her favour. At the end, the king agrees to let her stay if she behaves and she stays.

This book would be my favourite book in the whole selection series because America and Maxon become cuter and their relationship progresses more. Intriguing and had my eyes stuck on it for a while.

Kiera is a great author and I love her writing. In this book where Maxon has to choose a girl to marry and we all know (or atleast some of us here) who he chooses.

Characters:

America and Maxon (Protagonist)
America and Maxon's relationship progresses as I said before. There were a lot of good and bad things that happened in this book but it was all good in the end.
Aspen (Protagonist)
In the previous book, Aspen became an enemy referring to "destroying" America and Maxon's happiness. But he became pretty important to someone in this book. I won't tell because that would ruin the book for some of us here.
Celeste (Protagonist)
Celeste was a mean-girl from the start of the series but she becomes a good ally with America. Her friendship is about makeup and all girly stuff that I relate to her for this one.
America's Family (Antagonist and Protagonist)
America has one older brother, one older sister, one younger brother and one younger sister. When something happens in her family she is devastated. Half of her family (her mom, younger brother and sister, older sister) were in mourning but her older brother had to be a selfish jerk in this crisis.
Kriss (Antagonist)
Kriss is one of the selected, an Elite. She is shown as a friend of America in the last book because in the last two books hardly mention of her. She is an enemy at the very end and sometimes during the book because she was loved by the king so much that he wanted Maxon to choose her. It was kind of sad for the king too.

The Plot:
The plot twist of this book was the best part. With politics, action, and romance mixed in you got yourself an amazing series. Loved the really moving plot twist of this book. At last, I was really happy with the ending and it ended like it should have.

Favourite Quote:
"Break my hear, break it a thousand times if you like. It was yours to break anyway."

The Elite (The Selection, #4)
